How to Create Your Own Sub-Domain on Medium

I just found out from Sinem Günel that you can now create your own sub-domain on Medium. I will be creating mine when I publish this post. It will be harshalmurkute.medium.com

You may expect the sub-domain creation option to be in Settings, as of right now, it is not. You will have the option to create a sub-domain upon publishing a post (not in a Publication).

After you self publish a post, immediately after you will get a pop up asking you to claim your Medium URL.

There is an option to create a user name URL related to Medium in your Settings. Mine is medium.com/@harshalm97

Another option is to purchase a domain name and forward it to your Medium page or Publication.

So, now there are many ways to direct your family, friends, and fans to your Medium posts.

Now the most important thing is to write more and publish it consistently!
